Feedback on the annual report from the Funders of the Beacons Project

Recent feedback received from the funders (HEFCE, RCUK and Wellcome Trust) reviewing end-of-year activiteis that relate to our Beacons project has highlighted our evalaution strategy as best practice among the Beacons nationally, stating: "The funders welcomed the evaluation approach that has been taken and has found that section of the report very useful. We recommend that you share this approach with others".

Big Lottery Funded SOUL Record™ Development Project

The Research Centre has been successful in bidding for funding from The Big Lottery Fund to widen the availability and accessibility of The SOUL Record™; a toolkit to measure soft outcomes.


Researcher appointed for the Bottom Line Benefits project

Gillian Scofield appointed as the project researcher.

EAEMS Project status report April 2009

Conducted SOUL Trainer Training for 4 delegates at Otley College.

Attended dissemination project event at Acer to discuss ways to share the learning of the work of EECETT and action research funded projects.

Year 1 Annual Review is now completed.

Making History - the value of research in society evaluation being drafted.

Observing Public Enagagement CPD training (ongoing).

Sustainable living festival planning underway.

Article produced for the British Science Association for the next issue of their People & Science magazine.

Production of an article for the next issue of the Research & Development Bulletin completed.

SOUL Project status report April 2009

Two SOUL User Training sessions run.

Three SOUL Trainer Training sessions run for 11 new trainers in Suffolk and Essex.

LSRN Conference 2009 - Call for contributions

The planning group invites contributions to the parallel presentations. In addition to presentations of the outcomes of research or R&D projects, we welcome presentations that address capacity building and impact, for instance:

     • practitioner engagement with research or R&D

     • collaborative working

     • increasing the influence of research findings
