  • HEA Research Workshops

    It has been highlighted by several agencies / organisations that there is a need for improving the skills of individuals’ capabilities and activities regarding scholarly activity within the HE in FE sector. Therefore, a need exists within the FE sector for the organisation, development and delivery of a training workshop that addresses these issues by providing relevant staff within institutions with the appropriate training after which they will have the capabilities to develop and promote their own practices.

  • Photo-ID

    The Norfolk Contemporary Art Society (NCAS), in partnership with The Forum Norwich and Norwich University College of Arts are to stage a major city-centre photography exhibition, Photo-ID: Photographers and Scientists explore identity, in August 2009, which will combine with a scientific context to address issues of how we construct personal and social identity, the ways in which our exploding information about the human genome does, or does not, impact on that, and the societal and ethical issues that emerge. The Research Centre, City College Norwich has been appointed as the independent evaluator for this project.

  • SOUL

    The SOUL project was borne out of an identified need by the Norfolk voluntary and community sector to evidence the progression of their clients in relation to informal learning. This is, fundamentally, learning that does not lead to a recognised qualification and takes place in a wide variety of settings.

  • Big Lottery Funded SOUL Record™ Development project

    The Research Centre has been successful in bidding for funding from The Big Lottery Fund to widen the availability and accessibility of The SOUL Record™; a toolkit to measure soft outcomes.

    The SOUL Record™ will be professionally translated into Polish and Portuguese before being trialled and assessed by key voluntary sector personnel across Norfolk. Upon completion of the project, The Research Centre will identify key learning outcomes from the project to enable further translation into other languages in the future and will make the Polish and Portuguese versions of The SOUL Record™ available nationally.

  • Beacons for Public Engagement

    The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement is at the heart of a major new initiative to make universities more welcoming and accessible, and to deepen the social impact and relevance of their work. the Beacons for Public Engagement project is one of the biggest initiatives ever launched to support public enagagement throughout the UK.

  • Higher Education Academy's EvidenceNet

    EvidenceNet is a service to promote and explore the use of practice- and research-based evidence in teaching and learning in Higher Education. The Research Centre is working with The Higher Educatioin Academy to make available the resources from our own Research repository via EvidenceNet http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/evidencenet
